The lodge, west of Geraldine, has been given New Zealand tourism's official quality mark by being licensed to use the Qualmark TM.

Owners Ineke and Ashley Pierce said gaining the Qualmark TM enhanced their position in the five-star grade in the Guest and Hosted category.

"The Qualmark TM puts the brand of New Zealand, the silver fern, behind our business and signifies to travellers and the market that we are professional and trustworthy," said Mr Pierce.

Central South Island Tourism general manager Philip Brownie said operators must show an exceptional standard of service to be able to use the silver fern in their advertising.

Mr Brownie said the silver fern would give Four Peaks a strong position for marketing to international visitors. Tourists can be assured that operators with the Qualmark TM will offer them one of New Zealand's best services.
